Short Tom

Short Tom is the pet parrot of Captain James Hook and mascot of the pirate ship Jolly Roger, to which he normally remains onboard due to Hook's possessiveness of him. Though on other occasions Short Tom is used by Hook to scout for Peter Pan or his allies. Descriptions of him often vary though his breed of parrot species is usually referred to as a type of macaw. He is also noted in only having one eye or one leg and thus wears a miniature eye patch or makeshift peg leg. He is known to usually interact with Tinker Bell in some form of animosity or negative reactions.

Peter Pan & the Pirates

In Fox's Peter Pan & the Pirates Short Tom is a macaw who is green and yellow feathered with multi colored wings. who wears an eye patch over his right eye but has both his legs and feet. He is the prized pet of James Hook who values him above all else of his crew and often is mentioned to be Hook's only friend. In fact so much so that in one episode The Footrace when Hook found one of Short Tom's feathers in his soup he wrongly assumed Eucrates Cookson had cooked Short Tom prompting Cookson to jump overboard to avoid his wrath. Despite being very good as his job as lookout, due to his nonsensical speech no one seems to take him much notice so when Peter Pan or any of his friends sneak on board Jolly Roger, his warnings about them tend to go unheard. Unlike other variations Short Tom seems to have a slightly more friendlier disposition towards Tinker Bell

Peter Pan (2003)

In the 2003 Peter Pan Short Tom is a red and grey macaw who wears an eye patch over his right eye and is missing a foot as such has a miniature peg leg in it's place. In this version he is rather disheveled, scrawny and bereft of most of his feathers, but is still capable of perfect flight. He is first seen waddling out of the cabin of James Hook, to aggressively wake Mr. Smee to alert him that Neverland is waking up again. Prompting Smee in pain to shoot at him with two flintlock pistols. In this version he is a lot more crucial to Hook's plan on uncovering the exact location of where Peter Pan and his Lost Boys reside in Neverland by having him scout the island for possible places for the pirates to scour. Later on Hook uses him to secretly follow Wendy Darling back to Neverland to spy on her in doing so leading Short Tom back to Home Underground.

Peter Pan & Wendy (2023)

Short Tom will appear in Peter Pan & Wendy (2023). He will look pretty much like the 2003 version of him. In the film he will frequently appear more than he does in the 2003 film.
